This past weekend has been the busiest weekend I have had in the DMV since the start of the pandemic.
The weekend kicked off with a bridal shower to shower my beautiful friend with love before she becomes Mrs.

The shower was absolutely beautiful! It was held at her friends house and her bride tribe completely transformed that backyard into a bridal bliss.

Sunday was full of adventures, it began with brunch at Founding Farmers. It was a farewell brunch for one of the first friends I met when I moved to DC, and now she’s moving back to NY.
Ironically enough Founding Farmers was the first place we had brunch at the beginning of our friendship. And now it would become the place we had brunch at the transition of our friendship.

After brunch I headed to Georgetown waterfront to meet up with friends that were in town visiting. I was excited to hang out with them, they are newly married and I couldn’t be more happy for them. Their wedding was originally set to take place in Cancun, Mexico on August 28th but Rona had other plans. When I found out they kept their wedding date and got married in Central Park I was happy. I can’t wait for the celebration next year!
I met them at Sequoia, they were just finishing up brunch so I ordered a mimosa. It was a perfect day, the sun was shining and it was about 70 degrees. We sat outside on the Georgetown waterfront where the sweet sounds of reggae music danced from the speakers.

After brunch we decided to take a stroll through the vibrant streets of Georgetown. We stoped at Susheria to get a couple of pisco sours. I always hear how good they are but never wanted one because of one ingredient- egg whites 🥴. But I somehow got convinced that day, ANNNDD…it wasn’t bad. It was actually pretty tasty once I got the thought of eggs whites out my head.
It makes me happy when friends come in town because it forces me to go places and explore, and try things I normally wouldn’t try. Our next stop, Sprinkles for an afternoon sweet treat. I had the pumpkin cupcake which was very good, moist and not too sweet.

We began to walk back towards their hotel downtown when I spotted bikes and scooters, YES!. I convinced them that it was such a nice day and that Sunday’s were made to ride bikes and scooters. And what a perfect way to end the day.
Are you doing things that bring you joy while still keeping safe? We need to make sure we our. Our mental health during this time should be a priority.
Until next time….
