Well, it seems I just got home and i’m off again. This time to MEXICO 🇲🇽 . I am so excited for this trip and although I just got back from Florida and the beach, I can’t wait to be on the beach again.
Cabo was originally scheduled to take place in March, however the Pandemic had other plans and decided to ceased all international travel. I was sad when I first learned of the cancellation of this trip and wasn’t sure if it would happen at all. And then, months later, the text I have been waiting for came. The bride to be texted me asking if I would feel comfortable traveling and if I still wanted to go. I immediately responded yes; but shortly after I began to feel a bit hesitant about traveling internationally. My hesitation wasn’t so much about flying because I had already flown on a couple flights. It was more of the unknown of flying back into the states and not knowing if Mexico would have a spike in cases while we were there resulting in our trip prematurely ending. But I figured if I was going to go on this trip I had to stop living in fear, so I called the airline and rebooked my trip and I was set.
Bon Voyage…I was off. The flight wasn’t that bad, I mean the upgrade to first class may have helped #humblebrag. In all honesty I don’t think I can go back to coach after that 😩.

We finally arrived in Cabo San Lucas and I WAS IN PARADISE! We stayed at the RIU Palace all inclusive resort. Due to COVID the resort was only filling at 30% capacity, and required temperature checks upon arrival and each time you leave the resort and return, mask are also required. After we finished checking in we went straight the the restaurant and stuffed our faces. We barely ate with all the traveling so before we could do anything else we needed fuel. And now, pool time.Â

It was dia dos and the only thing on our minds were TACOS!!! We decided to venture off the resort to get some authentic Mexican food. We took a taxi which was very easy to get from the resort and it ran us 350 pesos or 14 usd. (They also accept usd which made it easier and we didn’t have to change all our cash.) Before leaving the resort we got some recommendations from the staff about good local eats and Tacos Gus was on the list and they did not disappoint.

Before heading back to the resort we stopped at the market across the street and picked up some souvenirs.

As soon as we got back we decided to relax at the pool. As we were relaxing, there was a volleyball game going on that we somehow got enticed to play. I’ve never played pool volleyball or regular volleyball for that matter but I am very competitive so I knew I would pick up very easily. While we were playing I felt my competitiveness taking over, I was jumping and diving for the ball and yelling at others to ‘hit the ball’ …sigh..once the game was done I needed a drink ha.

Ahh day 3, I could get used to waking up to the sound of the waves crashing into the shore and the sun shining on my face. We decided to head to the beach for a photo shoot after my beach morning run.

Our photo shoot took longer than expected and now it was time for dinner! We decided to have dinner at La Galeria Restaurant on the Marina. We sat outside facing the boardwalk and the marina, perfect for people watching.

Ahh guacamole! Table side guacamole with all the fixings, yes please. It was so good we had to order another round! And now it was time for dinner…my mouth and belly were super excited for what was about to come! I ordered the grilled octopus, and the other ladies ordered the flautes and grilled snapper. The food was absolutely amazing, every single bite perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection and I savored every bite. It was time for dessert, churros with vanilla ice cream.Â

We were so full, and just as we were paying the bill we saw two friends we met at the resort. They were walking along the boardwalk and didn’t have plans so we decided to join them. As we were walking up the street we saw a lounge and heard good music, so we decided to check it out and we danced all night!
Sunday Funday, it was yacht time! We decided to rent a yacht to take us out to seas the day 😉 (see what I did there). We were in the Pacific Ocean and the waters were super choppy so unfortunately we were unable to dock and get out. However we sailed pass the arch and got to see lovers beach (playa del amor) and divorce beach (playa del divorcio). They call it lovers beach because the waters are pretty calm and divorce beach because the waters can be very dangerous, you cannot swim in it.

After the yacht we went back to the resort and enjoyed our last night poolside. I was soaking in the sun and taking in the view before I had to return back to reality. It was a wonderful girls weekend/bachelorette trip and much needed getaway from life.

Have you travelled yet? If not when will you be comfortable to travel?
